This is the disclaimer people feel compelled to make because of the Idol cloud hanging over Haley and other alums...it's to tell others, "Normally I wouldn't listen to anything coming from Idol, I'm too cool for that". So this is a compliment...with a little backhand thrown in.

The Idol label is the hill she has to climb. On the other hand, she chose that route because it was the shortest distance to get to where she wanted.
