I agree with you guys in the way Casey was playing by the seat of his pants. He's just a laid back character, never seems stressed out about anything. So far things seem to be going his way.

I'd like to see the show again (any you tube copys? ). I think he sounded great, but by asking what kind of instrument to play etc, I thought he was wasting a little time of which he didn't have that much to begin with.

Casey is who and what he has been. Look at his personal vids, his show vids, his interviews.. I don't how if you've seen these, you can expect anything any differently. I went in expecting spontanaity, musicality, humor and interaction as well as being there for support and IMO, mission accomplished. Maybe someday in the future his perspective and goals change and he moves another direction, but for now, this 21 yr old is living the life while entertaining his fans.

It's sort of like some of the comments I saw from James' Fans about Haley. I do believe some of them like Haley's potential, but they are entertained by a different type of performane, more activity, more energy, bang for their buck. So what Haliens may see as nuance and adorkable, they may see as boring and self absorbed, or not even trying. From each perspective and expectation, everyone draws their opinion, so I try to not engage in their critique knowing what they expect as entertainment, because I can enjoy both high energy stadium rock as well as 'jazz-cool' nuance in a club

As you know, I like the Beatles, to Judas Priest, to ABBA, to Olivia Newton John...partly due to some of my youth being from outside the States, but also because each of these give me something different that I enjoy...I don't get annoyed because Judas Priest don't have the angelic vocals of ABBA and I'm not annoyed that ABBA don't write enough metal guitar into their songs..

JMO...I was entertained and I enjoyed listening to Casey play his instruments.

I believe that when they are singing together Haley really complements Casey and makes him dig down and concentrate.

That could be true in that he wants to perform at his very best when he's with her.

I understand, but this was his first show which included asking his fans what they wanted to hear and on what instrument... by definition, is spontaeneous and loose so therefore being tighter is not a priority... I know they like Casey.

However, if his show was more heavily attended (Heavy Halien attendance..maybe as many as there were 'Casey' fans), and the posts were going a mile a minute, he might have had to change his 'game plan'.

Nice thoughts Tusk. You've been saving me the effort of babbling the last week or so by saying much of what i'm thinking. LOL

I paid for Casey's show but just couldn't make it a priority. 5:30 can be pretty busy time for me ... clients are more open to big picture subjects near the end of the day.. (or want answers etc) .

I imagine it will turn up somewhere soon enough. It sounds like one I would have enjoyed , especially about 9 pm (and as I mean pacific time, that 12 am eastern time wouldn't be very workable for others).

Its been remarked many times before but it is funny how many of us frequenting this forum have very broad, and to some maybe even discordant, types of music we appreciate.
