I thought for sure we would have a snapshot of Nug and her hula hoop by now...

Miguel has some pics of me and Nug in our hula hooping contest for the final round. Unfortunately I lost out to Nug, and then Lisa took the title! hopefully, Miguel will post some of the photos.

Great, great weekend!! Can't tell you what a wonderful group of people I've met and spent time with!! Haley and family spent 3 hours with us this afternoon, hobnobbing, taking pictures, and just being so gracious and kind to each one of us. One of the best times I've ever had.

Thank you so much to Himm and his wife for all their hard work. We are all so grateful to you for making this whole experience possible. I love you all!!!

I'm still buzzing not only did we meet the Reinharts, we also met many of their friends, family and Bandmates. We looked over the footage, talking about sound quality, then met Peter Spero, Midnight's original keyboardist, who flew in to perform for the show, then told us he has the original digital audio from the show AND video from the stage AND offered to work together with us on the videos!!!

Furthermore, he told me he used our video from Las Vegas to learn "My Cake" !!!! (he recognized my name from the video)

On top of that, from the "small world" file, turns out Peter's wife and I had met before... last year, at Lollapalooza!!!
She said, "Aren't you the guy filming the show on top of the small hill @ Lollapalooza?" I said, aren't you the lady with her daughter I told the videos would be posted at HF?.... YES&YES !!!
I also met and talked to Haley's and Angie's teachers as well..

the whole weekend was beyond unreal, from the peril of landing in thunderstorms at O'Hare (NUG, Yanni and Swan arriving after 1:30am ) To this weekend's unforgettable FULL BAND Reinhart family extravaganza to meeting so many wonderful people to cap it off.

Thank you so much to Himm2, the Reinharts and fam, the Haliens who shared this once in a lifetime experience AND a HUGE wish of gratitude to Mrs Himm2, who was the ultimate in hospitality and warmth, we are so grateful for your graciousness and sharing your home with this motley crew

The Sunday Reinhart Party

Under the category of Weird, Wild, Wackey and Wonderful:

...sitting in Himm's living room talking with Haley's cousin, when I discover she is a grandmother of 4, get your Halien appendages around the size and scope of the extended Reinhart family.

...Tusk, he's like the Energizer Bunny on steroids. I don't know what he's on, but I ordered $120 worth.

...Swansteel, another wonderful Halien with a great heart; although we had him laughing so hard on Sunday evening I was worried we would need the defibrillator.

...the Reinharts, don't you just want to adopt them as your new family? It's like the 60s Clever family has come back as the Reinharts. They are a very real, humble, down to earth group...including the whole extended clan.

...so how can a Halien with a moniker of NUG (Not Your Girl) end up with 6 guys in her hotel room at 4 in the morning

...talking with Jennifer and Dale, discover she was Haley's music teacher from 1st - 5th grade...having a Paul Harvey (Chicago tie-in) moment...now I know the rest of the story. She confirmed what we probably all thought...Haley stood out at that stage too

...Tim (the guy with the arm of steel holding the video camera up for the whole concert), his new moniker will be...IfYouCanBeCoolAndBeFromNebraskaThenI'mTheCoolGuyFromNebraska. I suggested shortening it to COOL2.

...Miguel, Mr Technology, and it takes him 5 hours to get from the airport to the concert, but not on time...because he's lost, or his GPS broke down, or he couldn't call anyone, or he refused (guy thing) to ask anyone for directions once he realized he was lost...but he made it, and got the excellent audio further back from the stage...as Haley would say, a blessing in disguise.

...Himm2, Steve & Cheri, how wonderful and gracious are they to have shared their home with all of us wackey Haliens. All the work, planning, networking...it all came together for one great Shindig!

What a beautiful time I've had- I only have my phone, so l'll post my impressions later, but I had a few little tears of joy last night just thinking about how wonderful these Haliens are. Haley, Patty, Harry and Angie, every single person I spoke to this weekend has such a beautiful soul!! I feel very fulfilled and grateful for this experience.

Wow - Himm2 thanks for planning the whole “shindig” and showing all the Haiens in attendance a good time. It was lot of work and it sounds like you and your wife were a very gracious hosts. Good Ole’ Chicago hospitality at its finest. I get a sense that Babbs was a cohort in some manner for the adventure for others to enjoy...

For all of you who attended, those who are techy and posted vids/audio of the concert and those that verbalized your thoughts and experiences thank you too. You all went to a lot of expense, time, energy (running on little sleep) and are great fans which I am sure Haley and her entire family appreciates (I know we all on this site do). Sometimes living vicariously through others is fun (when you can’t be there).
