Multiple sources confirm exclusively to E! News that the Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson has signed a deal to sit at the judges' table this fall for season 13. The other two spots are also intended for former Idol contestants: Kelly Clarkson and either Adam Lambert or Clay Aiken.

Idol needs to make some serious changes. But a Jennifer, Kelly, Adam cast would be fantastic.

Its no big surprise but its official-both Mariah and Nicki announced yesterday that they won't be coming back.Both cited the priorities of their careers as the reason.That leaves only Keith and I wouldn't be surprised if he gives the same reason for not returning.

After all the divas and rock legends of the past few years I think the general audience has had enough and I'd agree that it would be a nice change to go with judges that are "in house" so to speak.

As talented as these women are, they have the unfortunate timing of being in the season they participated. Not entirely sure if the disinterest is due to the Poor Season or the lack of interest, overall, for these types of shows.
They have already cancelled many dates for the tour before they even begun.... I also noticed the comments for all 3 @ Tvline total less than 300, compared to Haley's Haley Loonies 3600 + (special circumstances )

Not many can outdo the sales for Phillip Phillips’ American Idol coronation song, “Home”. The single, which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, was downloaded an astonishing 278,000 times in his first week after winning Season 11. It has the biggest digital sales week for any of the former winners, and even became the unofficial anthem of last summer’s London Olympics.

The bottom line? We didn’t expect that recent Idol winner Candice Glover’s coronation song, “I Am Beautiful,” would reach the status of “Home” — but according to americanidolnet.com, it hasn’t even done as well as Season 9's Lee DeWyze and his lackluster cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day”.

There were 54,000 downloads of “I Am Beautiful” in the first week of sales for Candice’s winning song. Runner-up Kree Harrison hasn’t fared much better, with her single “All Cried Out” coming in at 24,000 downloads. Sadly, Candice was even beat out by Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina’s rather schmaltzy “Like My Mother Does,” which garnered about 122,000 downloads in the first week after the finale. In comparing the first week of sales of all the Idol winners, Candice comes in dead last:

It was very easy to predict that the 2013 tour would not do well. There were way to many boring performances. There were some good performances but no consistency. It takes more than a good singing voice to entertain live in a large venue. With time they can develop and learn how to entertain a crowd but at this time there is not much excitement.

I'm sure there are fans that loved the season and are excited about going to one of the shows but I doubt that any of the shows will sell out. I noticed that the venue local to me has reduced their expectations and are repositioning the stage and only trying to sell 2/3 of their seats.

I might go to the rescheduled show in Rosemont, IL. It shifted from July 7 to August 14. But I'd feel like I should only pay half price because I have absolutely no interest in seeing any of the guys perform. The ticket sales area at the Allstate Arena is half the size that was available for the sold-out show for Haley's season. The only advantage there is that the cheapest seats this season are now about 200 feet closer to the stage than they were in 2011.

Maybe -- maybe not. And wasn't Haley accused of the same thing?

Both of them played the AI game of tackling the different themes to show their abilities -- Haley, through her versatility; Candice, through taking on songs, not within her style, but putting her "Candice mark" on them. Candice gave a melodic line to a rap song by Drake, for pete's sake, and Drake claimed to like it!

But, hopefully, Candice will get some good material for the rest of the album. I think it's safe to assume from Miss Aretha Franklin's presence in the finale, that she's in Candice's corner. I think it likely that Aretha still gets demo songs sent to her. I'm harboring a fantasy that she might toss something (good) to Candice and Candice will run away with it.

I agree that the song is a dud. And she may suffer because her fans and followers want and expect quality when she sings (which is not a concern for some performers . . . JLo).

The popularity of "Home" is interesting because, like Haley and Undone, P2 didn't seem to care that much for the song (somehow I got that impression anyway). I think he remarked that it's not the kind of song he would write.
