Love "Your Take" on "My Cake" Tusk. How did you hold it so steady? I can hear the lyrics best on your version.

You might have missed in the deluge of posts, my video sucked. Audio is better. I was in the middle of the crowd, avoiding arms and heads, even got bumped by Casey's Dad. The stage lights wreaked havoc on my video. My audio is better but I can't post the video, it's really bad.
I was going to combine my audio to the good video, decided that will take too long.

Casey really gets into this song sensually, almost to the point of going to jail or getting the crap beat out of him by a jealous boyfriend. Saw his interaction with mainly one girl at BallyDoyle first hand last week as his hand ran thru her hair for a full minute followed by their foreheads touching for just as long. Didn't actually get off the stage and into the audience like in Tusk's video. Thanks for the video to compare Tusk.

Couple thoughts

2) Why is this recording of so much higher sound quality than Haley's (did Casey oversee the sound mixing ? did he have his own guy mixing the sound and working noise control on the amps ? I wonder)

3) NOT sure how to be NICE - I know : Casey has played a lot more gigs with his band and probably really had a chance to both let them come together themselves and also to anticipate and take direction from him about exactly the feel he wants. mean part: to my ear, Casey's bass player and keyboardist knock the hell out of Haley's (sorry Keith(I have a feeling you look in here)... I really think it could be from not having enough time playing together with Haley in types of gigs and rehearsal that lets you guys really feel it out -- a lot more time in dive clubs together would help immesurably)

Casey's Dad was gushing about Casey's keyboard player to me and Yanni. I've heard Keith live several times, his creativity and versatility still makes him tops for me. I would have to listen to Casey's guy more to get a better feeling.

That was a good rendition. That's one of my favorite's from Casey's album, as well. Poor Jacob, trying to keep a straight face and keep playing while Casey's doing everything he can (and often succeeding) to make that impossible.

I wish Casey would learn to be more respectful of the females in his audience. One of these days, he's going to invade some girl's space and she's not going to be as appreciative as most of his "adoring" fans. It won't be enjoyable -- for anyone. (I think that's part of what J-Lo was attempting to get through to him when he was a contestant on AI.)

I got a taste of Casey's fan base. If you're up front, you know to expect the unexpected, they really LOVE his performances, much more boisterous than when Haley was on stage. More kids sat on Daddy's shoulder too...

I think this is precisely the result he's gained through tons of touring.

The LA Haliens were upfront and they really really loved it. He serenaded one of them, Stephanie, and she was OTT thrilled. He approached fans who've met and know him and he knows them...

I can't imagine if you go to his show, go to the front, then be insulted by something that's part of the entertainment?...

Try this scenario: a girl with her girlfriends who all adore Casey, but either he's not her cup of tea or he's not really in her radar, one way or another. However, the girlfriends convince her to give a concert or maybe a more informal gig (like the one Babbs and Himm2 saw last weekend) a try. The girlfriends get a table up front. Within about 15 minutes, she'd like to be gone, but can't figure out a "graceful exit". And then, Casey starts strolling out in the audience and it's that table he chooses -- specifically her....

While it seems unlikely, Tusk, it's not impossible.

^^ Thats true Tusk...The two girls Casey interacted with at the edge of the BallyDoyle stage were almost begging himm to interact with them. (oops sorry I himm'ed Casey due to jealousy) Guess I remember Casey's swansong exit from Idol when he kissed a half dozen girls in the front row that may or may not have seen that coming or welcomed it. I also agree about an intangible that Keith offers that most other keyboard guys don't have and that's an obvious exuberance for showing a special passion for the music, helping the headliner to excite the audience.
