(which I think might be a 1st for ZZ), but I hadn't had a chance to hear it yet.

I knew she only had a 45min set, but I was still surprised at how fast paced it is. She barely has a chance to catch her breath & you can hear it in the vocals on a few songs, especially the ones that follow the songs she plays harmonica on. I think her 2pm Friday set was a good time slot to play a set comprised primarily of her most upbeat tunes tho, since she's playing to a crowd that's just arriving, or has only been there a couple of hours & is just gearing up for the festival.

She plays again next weekend too of course. I don't know if the time slots are the same or if they change from weekend 1 to weekend 2.

Her tweets to Bria Kelly have been sweet.

She tweeted her last week congratulating Bria on making the Top 12 of the Voice.
And this week she told her fans to vote for Bria.

Pretty big deal for Bria, as ZZ is her idol.

Here's the official video for "Last Love Song". This was shot back in February (part in LA & part in San Fran) & was posted to ZZ's channel on April 25th. There's also another version of the video which was done for Pretty Little Liars & posted a day earlier.

I've been paying attention to the Ann Arbor music scene because of Michelle Chamuel...it seems like a great place to be as a music fan. (Chamuel's performing this year on August 21, Darren Criss performed last year, Theo Katzman is also performing with Michelle...) And I got a little excited to see ZZ listed there. (It would actually be a cool concert for Haley to participate in too.)

The concert is free if anyone lives and/or can make it up there.

I did catch part of it, i was out with friends and they had it on. I kept looking and noticed it was ZZ Ward. I would have never know about her if it wasn't for this site .

Well yeah, since Disney owns Hollywood Records & also quite a few TV stations, including ABC & ESPN, & I would think that weighs heavily to their own artists advantage, if it's something where different artists mgmt's put a submission in to play an event and then a few are chosen (& paid) to play at the event. She might've even been a replacement for another artist, because she didn't tweet about it until the day of & ESPN 1st mentioned her the day before the awards.

This is a pretty good interview where she talks a little about how opening acts are chosen & about how she thinks she might've been chosen to open, for Eric Clapton this spring.

ZZ performed in front of a crowd of 9,450 last night, opening for Amos Lee, at his soldout show at Red Rocks. She might've played to a bigger audience at a few of the festivals, but this was definitely one of the biggest.
