As I said earlier, Haley has more resources available to her than we think, for instance, If she does not own the rights to haleyreinhart.com, other urls are available to her, she just needs to say so and they are hers.

There really is no real obstacle to putting up a website, especially if your career involves a fan base. If not HF or my youtube channel and the help of TeamHaleyFans, then what? A handful of tweets every day about Undone and how "she should have won"?

IMO it's not about lack of resources/opportunity/offers... so that leaves us with legals/contract, timing, or even perhaps, a reset, a period of time to assess goals/partnerships/risks/strategy, long/short term decisions, or she is making time to take available opportunity to learn and gain a deeper understanding of the process/industry. (Taking Dina's class, song writing/producing camps)

Of course, not being with a label reduces opportunity and resources, I'm just of the opinion that Haley has more to do with the course of her direction with the resources that are available to her, as opposed to being a "passenger" guided by the limits of the resources she doesn't have

That she's taken an interest in Dina's class about entertainment law and contracts, might speak to what she feels she needs to improve in herself to make better informed decision, maybe the class might clarify "what went wrong" in her past experience with contracts so she can help construct a contract that is more beneficial to her, that fits better with the vision she has for her career. Be the driver, not the passenger....

I will add the caveat that it's possible Haley 'owes' on advance from Interscope, perhaps affecting contracts with a third party. I admit knowing nothing about the industry, but it's been suggested to me and I agree, entirely possible

The one aspect that seems to be missing is her self-promotion. Isn't there one tech savvy fan/friend/family member/industry insider that is willing to step up and help her with the social media side of promoting herself? Many here have pointed out how other less well known artists have worked their way to success in this fragmented music industry. Haley could use some help just navigating the networks that are available today, to keep her more visible and more fan friendly, for that success we all want her to have.

Buzz if you only knew how many times your thoughts have entered my mind , how many times I've wished I was "techie" enough to design her a decent web site & help her take advantage of the full spectrum of social media; unfortunately, using the Utah vernacular, "I ain't." Tusk & Himmm would know more about the contractual obstacle's in her immediate path. All I know for sure is if she keeps fighting she will break through, she is to good not to.

Or it could just be she has something else in mind, or rights issues, or the timing isn't right. We know nothing about the contracts she signed, what her obligations, strategies are. All speculation, the point remains, it's not because of lack of opportunity or resource that things aren't "happening"

Whoever said that Haley is bad at/critically missing the self-promotional aspect of a independent artist, they're absolutely correct. I'm a diehard Hales fan, but she's just terrible at hyping herself and her developing musical career. You can only tell people so many times "Oh boy! I got something big coming! Just wait!" over the past 15 months until you just seem like the girl who cried record deal. And obviously, she shouldn't have to be the one to do that, it should be her management team that's booking venue dates, getting her on Ellen and other tv and radio appearances. But since her teams terrible at it, she's gonna have to be the one. I really wish Haley would come out and just say something in terms of, "Yeah, I'm struggling a bit with finding a new deal that benefits me as an artist, give me some time." I also really wish Haley would get Bandcamp'd up.

Touche Tusk & I have a tendency towards flippent remarks at times, much to my chagrin.

By the way I knew nothing of this Mindy girl until I picked up a magazine this morning. She is going to get a big pay check from this TV ad during the Olympics. I can envision Haley, with her writing talent, in this sector of the music industry. Something will break for her. Notice at the begining it says "indepentent recording artist."

The problem is, Haley doesn't really have much to promote right now.

As far as we know, she's not signed. Her management is stagnant. She's creating music, not performing it. And her last album is almost two years old. What's a few posts on twitter really going to do?

I know we all want all the information available, but she's probably in the midst of looking at contracts and figuring out where "her home" is going to be. That's stuff she can't talk about until it's settled.

The one thing I really really love about what she's doing is that she's clearly made song writing a goal. That's the avenue she needs to take, IMO. When watching idol, you really don't get to see the other musical abilities. Haley's songwriting ability really surprised me. She writes great potential pop hits. And as bad as interscope and 19 have been, Ole has been good. Her connections, camps, and actual songs will do more for her..and get her more established in the industry so that when she does come out with her own music, she has some credibility. Whoever it was who told her to focus on that gave her the right advice.

And hopefully we'll hear some new information soon. I think Haley's going to break out, and sooner rather than later. She's too talented..and is the total package. She'll get where she wants to be eventually.

Maybe part of the problem is there is no "Team Haley" (not counting her legal team/Ole Publishing) now, and as Miguel posited, might not have been one for some time depending on the specifics of when Interscope and she 'parted ways'.

The problem is, Haley doesn't really have much to promote right now.

Maybe her biggest drawback is she is not a social media person, let alone tech savy (I happen to think she plays coy about this), besides, I'm not sure I'd like every body to know every step or breath I take. She has shown she likes her privacy as well, so that leaves not much to tweet about...

I happen to think she still has a sizable fan base. None of the people I met at the parties in LA spoke about their online Identity, I'd venture to say most didn't tweet or blog. Most were my age or older and of the pre "Blog/Tweet/Facebook" generations. The fans who introduced themselves to me in Chicago did not post, but followed Haley through our posts, thankful for any resource so they could follow what's going on with Haley. Same with fans who introduced themselves to me at CityWalk. All wanted to show support, but did not participate in social media, blogging or tweeting. Just wanted to say hi, thanks and share their enthusiasm for Haley.

As stated, there's really not much to talk about, apparently, and who posts specifics about contracts or negotiations in public?

As soon as they've crossed their T's and dotted their I's, spit shined their product, then there will be something to discuss...
