Renewing my request for FiFF to include Haley covering "Killing Me Softly", perhaps as a juxtoposition to dealing w/ his relationship problems....

Also someone asked about middle names, I threw in a suggestion, and FiFF liked it Smile

Quote:Unless you're sticking w/ Bill's real middle name, might I suggest FiFF's Bill's middle name be "Haley" as in "Bill Haley & the Comets"?  Bill Haley Murphy?

While I'm submitting suggestions, I'd like to renew my request you include @HaleyReinhart covering "Killing me Softly"?

Mike Price is doing a reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything)

I already asked my obligatory Haley question, he answered pretty quickly

Hi Mike, big fan of Haley Reinhart's who plays Bill. You've also featured music you got Haley to sing. The 70's were a HUGE era for music and I know you've already referred to it with Kevin's story line. Any more music set for Season 4? Is music something you consider as part of the script or do you consider it near the end?
I'd love if you explored the 70's era of music more with more references like "The What We Did" using Haley singing. Might as well use the resource right in your back yard. Thank you

I love music and the music of the 70s, so yes! I can't give out any spoilers, but the development of Kevin's music will play a major part in his story arc for Season 4. There will be some more new original songs that Kevin and his band sing as well as some parody type songs that we'll write for other aspects of the show. Sometimes the music is part of the story as we're forming it and sometimes it comes in much later. It all depends.

We also have a great Music Supervisor in Bruce Gilbert, who finds and does the legal clearance on the "real" songs we use. Our music budget is not huge, so he's been crucial in finding really great songs that fit our moods but don't break the bank. One example was in episode 305 when Bill and Bridget had their little "Date". Our original choice for that moment was " A Perfect Day" by Lou Reed. We loved it. But it was way too costly to get. So Bruce found "It's What You've Got" by Pete Dello. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25Iz6ZkEu7w It was perfect.

And, of course, we love Haley and her voice and we try to get her singing somewhere in every season. She just crushed "The What We Did" and we'll certainly look for a place for her to sing in Season 4.
