^^I really did, and still do, love that Jax performance. It is the first song from the show that I looked up the video on YouTube and watched multiple times. I even went to iTunes to see if I could buy it. What could have been cutesy was instead lovely. I think Jax has one of the sweetest little vibratos around.

Well I'll be darned. Love the love that Michael sends Haley's way.

Once Mr. Slezak decides to champion a contestant, he seems to remain very loyal. (He sends a lot of love Ms. Doolittle's way as well.)

In reality, while it's nice that he suggested a Haley song for Joey, I know I certainly don't want to hear Joey sing it. I'm very much conflicted about Joey. I appreciate her creativity and willingness to take risks, but her vocal tone is thoroughly unpleasant to my ear.

I love her tone, but I'm not sure her range could handle that song. Granted, Joey does a good job of changing a song to fit her voice.

Still..when Joey is the best AI has to offer..well, it's easy to see why The Voice is kicking AI around.

On an Idol-related note, I checked Gerrick D. Kennedy's twitter feed after his nice article on Haley and found he had retweeted Shirley Halperin in the last hour:

I'm not watching AI anymore, except I saw a little last night. Wow, how far has that franchise sunk...they finally figured out that Randy Jackson was killing them...and us!

I told them in an email in 2011, I would never watch the show again as long as Randy was on it...now that he is off, still won't watch it.

I watched last night also. It was bad. It just all seems so fake and without energy and the stupid lighted chairs and the contrived drama and predictable comments. Harry Connick is the only one that has real input. It is having a long slow dreary death. I bet it isn't on next year. RIP

I still watch, and while it's heyday is over for sure (as all singing competitions IMO), it's still a show I look forward to every year. Just the off chance of finding another talent I really like, it never gets old to me.
