IMO, Casey's primary contribution is to us Haley's fans. He has shown Haley that it's OK to show more of herself, and have fun doing it.

Everything Haley needs, musically, is already engrained in her from Birth, she's been absorbing music history through her parents, on so many levels. All she needs to be a performer, she's already got the tools for. She's been primed to be musically talented as long as she's remembered

I've always had the sense that Haley, in the end, is a very private person. If it wasn't for Casey showing Haley that it could actually be fun, that you could have a good time, he shows her by having fun himself, invites her to join him, unlocks sides of her personality that she might not otherwise show, we wouldn't have the Haley we know and love now

That's where I give Casey the most credit. Two insanely talented musicians, one has shown the other that music and performing can also be wild, wacky and fun

That sounds more likely. I'm glad that Haley and Casey have have the tremendous relationship they have but sometimes I think Casey is given too much credit for being the catalyst in their musical relationship. In terms of improvisation in their AI run, I thought it was far more evident in Haley than in Casey (Oh Darling, GBTC, and Moanin).

I wasn't going there at all -- "catalyst in their musical relationship". Although I can't find the link right now, we've all seen the video of Haley performing Moanin' at the RoadHouse (correct name?), several years before Idol. There was nothing in the Idol Moanin' that wasn't there at the RoadHouse in spades. We know Haley was the catalyst for the Moanin' duet. She obviously could have killed it had she sung it by herself. She didn't. It took an unjudged situation and, perhaps a kindred spirit, to take the risk and earn the just reward.

Although I think Casey can provide some beautiful vocals, he can also serve up some god-awful noises -- i.e. the HOTRS/Amazing Grace mashup floating around. But I guarantee, the folks in that audience were roaring through every screechy note of it. So maybe that's just the peculiarities of my personal taste. How many beautiful operatic voices did I listen to in the past year? As few as possible.

Is Casey a Svengali? Hardly. Is he a kook? Yup. Given the particular chain of events/opportunities that has made this such a spectacular year for Haley fans, can anyone doubt the value of the Caley friendship?

Leaving the home & family behind in Wheeling where she spent her whole life before suddenly uprooting to the foreign west coast at the age of 21, Haley needed a close music-industry related friend to help her thru the transition and Casey Abrams was the perfect choice. She thrives on deep loyal relationships, Talks to mom & dad for feedback all the time and I'm sure Casey gives her that local & touring feedback she embraces. The fact that Casey can play any instrument and has the same musical sense as Haley is the huge value Casey contributes to the relationship. Casey is a showman and enhances Haley fun comic entertainment side. This relationship & collaboration is all good.

After meeting Casey in Pittsburgh, he is a great, sweet guy who spent a lot of time with his fans, signed everything, took pictures, etc and he is a hell of an entertainer. Without Casey in her universe, who knows where Haley would be? I believe I heard that Casey introduced Haley to PMJ and that relationship took her career into a whole new direction. I think the "Habits" video came out in January of this year, and prior to that, it seemed she was struggling, with the low point (to me) appearing with that stoner band at some festival in South Carolina. Since then, wow, with the millions of views on PMJ, touring the world, the "F is Family" work, and "Can't Help Falling In Love" ad (with Casey on piano).

Also, to me, Casey and Haley play off each other so well, and push each other to perform even better during their live shows. I asked Casey about a 2016 tour with Haley ("Beauty and The Beard") as they both have new music out or coming out, and he liked it the idea. Haley with his band would be a terrific show, with Casey and Haley doing some duets and having fun banter. Someone here said that together they were reminiscent of Sonny and Cher of the 1970s, and I agree. In any case, 2016 is shaping up to be a hell of a year for Haley, and Casey is a big part of her success.

I have always thought Casey is an insanely talented musician with ok vocals - sometimes very nice (NKWLCD) and sometimes too raw for my taste. For me though it is their StageIt show that really showcased their synergy performing together. I still go back and listen to many of those performances... they never get old.

I will forever be grateful to Casey for recording that "magic 11 minutes" in New Orleans when Haley and Casey dropped in on Irvin Mayfield, Jr. I go back to that video of GBTC regularly. To me, this, especially the last 3 minutes, is what differentiates Haley from any other singers I'm aware of today.

I also think that to appreciate and comment objectively about Haley one needs to watch her StageIt performances with Casey, where their personalities, chemistry, and creativity are fully evident. This is why some of the negative comments on PMJ YT videos (although there aren't many) about Haley's personality/style, probably based only on her PMJ "alter ego character" really irritate me.

It's a fantastic EP, reminds me of something you might hear on vinyl in the late 70's, my favorite is easily "Never Knew What Love Can Do" and "Shining a Light" which I heard debuted at Room 5.

Shining A Light is also my second favorite on Tales from the GingerBread House -- tied with three others. Since the official mp3 is still unreleased, I've added the lyrics to a previous Room 5 performance video. Can anyone help me with line 6: appeasing, appealing, something else?
