On the bright side she gained 1,000 new monthly listeners on Spotify last night. So there's no such thing as bad publicity am I right?

Also I think Haley knew word would get out, perhaps she posted all of that baby it's you promo on her instagram before this happened so people would see it when they looked her up, she's smart.

Also on the bright side, a whole bunch of media articles pointed out she has a new album coming out in September.

Unfortunately the Daily Herald writer said the album "Baby It's You" came out last month. I corrected her as "What's That Sound" coming out September 22nd. but at least a mention of that plus other great things Haley has done. I sat near the friends Haley was with on July 4th and I'll be seeing if this has any affect on her in two days onstage with PMJ on Chicago's Lakefront. Casey will be with her and Ariana is the new emcee which should be wildly entertaining.

This type of pseudo-journalistic sensationalism is really worrisome to me. Nobody knows what happened and still everybody reprints just the same sensationalistic stuff simply because there's a name attached. I can't help but wonder which hidden or not-so-hidden Puritan roots embedded in the American public culture are at work in these kinds of things (and also elsewhere). Of course getting arrested should really not happen, but nobody can judge what took place and whether it was justified, bouncers sometimes don't ask a lot of questions and that can feel unjust and trigger defensive reactions, then both sides feel they have a case. Not good, should really be avoided, but still happens. What we know is that Haley is a peaceful person of utmost friendliness and if she did something then it seems to me she surely had a cause and then I guess you live with whatever the consequences are. I hope she is ok with the emotional turbulence. There's so much way more serious than some incident, celebrity or not. At least in my opinion! Maybe it'll give birth to some song with a fighting spirit. :-)

This is all over the media - Billboard, People Variety etc.. and it was on the local abc 7 news here in Chicago this morning. If she was a no body none of them would have picked it up. More proof that all news is good news. People pay big money for publicity and this is has all been free. I have gotten email and text messages from St Louis, Washington state, North Carolina and California from people that know I am a Haley fan. Not one thought it was a big deal.

I imagine after all of this blows over people would want to hear her side of the story on talk shows like Conan and Fallon and joke about it. I can't imagine Haley talking bad about the place if it comes time to talk I picture her taking a more diplomatic approach not to offend anyone.

So, the Slayer became the Slugger. Well, I was pretty shook up when I heard the news, and seeing her mug shot all over the Internet.... But, I am over 50 and believe me in my 20s, I had many nights I wished never happened---usually tied to too much drinking. I hope Haley learns from this ---whatever happened, she needs to be more careful who she hangs out with and where she goes.

On the plus side, as noted, her name has been all over, from People to EW to TMZ to NY Daily News to US Weekly to newspapers all over. And if you believe there is no such thing as bad publicity, well, she got plenty. And most articles mentioned that she had a new single and new CD coming out in September, along with some mentions of "F Is For Family". So, have to look on the bright side I guess.
