RE: Happy for Haley

Was trying to download Sara Bareilles' EP, and the zip ended up being Haley Reinhart's album. Not complaining.
Accidental exposure to a non-paying music fan, bad?
Some fan's guerilla marketing effort working, good?

Quote:How did a teenager from Spain’s rural mountainous Basque region go on to amass 225,000 subscribers on YouTube with over 28 million video views and counting, then go on to sign a recording contract with Rebel Rock & Interscope Records?

Quote:Leroy continued to upload videos of him performing cover songs in the R&B and Pop genres and slowly started seeing his viewership grow. He was soon approached by local musicians to form a band and quickly started to perform in bars and clubs around the city. Little by little the crowds grew to the point where he was selling out events and performing in front of crowds of over 500 people. Around this time, Leroy received a message that would drastically change his path—figuratively and geographically. Super producer, Jim Jonsin (who has produced hits for artists such as Beyonce, Usher, Lil Wayne, T.I., Kelly Rowland, among others and is based just outside of Miami), had seen his videos and immediately recognized the incredible potential in him. Within a couple of weeks, Jonsin flew Leroy out to Miami to meet in person and was convinced that Leroy was going to be a mega star. After a couple of trips back and forth to the states, Jim signed Leroy to a record deal with his label, Rebel Rock Entertainment. As soon as he did he went straight to work on the 10th season of American Idol doing background vocals and vocal production for various contestants like Scotty McCreary, James Durbin and Haley Reinhart. There, he was able to meet and perform in front of many well known artists like J.Lo, Marc Antony, and even Prince who said, “He’s a star,” as Leroy strummed the last chord to a song he sang for him
Video w/ most views, 5,352,000
He's got pretty good vocals, no doubt....
Pretty smooth R&B potential
