I rarely make music recommendations because lord knows, so few people have any taste in real music anymore but I just saw this artist perform in Los Angeles two nights ago and was absolutely blown away: Haley Reinhart. She's touring across the US in support of a new record and will be on the east coast / NYC June 22 and then over to UK, Germany etc. Go see her if you can, even if you have to go alone like I did. This is real music that reaches your soul. Her band was amazing as well; total pros. Here's Haley Reinhart The El Rey Theatre June 6: You belong to me.

Ah, I see. Well, I'm glad she is doing some great stuff and always great to come across a class act. I have a penchant for older eras, too. I don't take to many female voices, but she knocks it out of the park. I've got her right up there with my favourites, Etta James, Billy Holiday, Sarah Mclachlan, and a couple of others.
