RE: Happy for Haley
So for the longest time, I've been a HUGE fan of artist, Bill Sienkiewicz, mostly from comic books I collected in my teens. Since then, Bill has become Iconic in the world of comic books, his runs are legendary, a lot of the comic character designs for the Oscar Winning Animated Spider Man movie, "Into the Spiderverse" are based on Bill's character designs.
Anyways, a few years back, I gave my nephew, Noah, my drawing of the character, Wolverine, based on Bill's art work for his 6th birthday. Noah thanked me by sending a drawing of Wolverine that he drew.... On Sunday, I decided to tweet Bill about how I told my Nephew his Wolverine drawing reminded me of one of my all time favorite artists (second pic is character design for a mutant named "Warlock" drawn by Bill for the comic book "New Mutants")
This morning, I woke up to find that Bill had followed me, and retweeted my tweet w/ a comment,
Quote:Bill Sienkiewicz @sinKEVitch
WHOA
Noah: Keep drawing. Between you & your aunt @HaleysTusk, it's clear that incredible talent runs deep in the family.
Haley: You absolutely rock. Thank you.
Obviously, he misread my tweet, didn't see the drawing was addressed to "Uncle" Tony. It started getting likes, so I had to wonder if I should correct Bill and let him know I'm NOT Haley, or if I should just let it go.
In the end, "Honesty, is the best policy".... it's obvious he looked Haley up (You absolutely rock) and I didn't want him to think he was following "Haley", so I DM'd him to tell him I'm just a big Haley fan. I risked losing the follow, but being honest is the better way to go IMO.
To my surprise, Bill answered:
Quote:Sorry my bad.
Still, she’s awesome, so I get it!
But thank you!! Noah has some Chops
So I went ahead and elaborated, how I've been a fan of his for decades, explained how I found Haley and how she inspired waking up my creativity again... it was kind of longish, as I'm tend to do...
I Dm'd him a Haley piece I did that his art inspired....
To my surprise, Bill replied again! This time talking about Haley!
Quote:Aw thank you! Lovely piece! Keep crushing it.
And Thanks so much for turning me on to her work. When I saw your post, I immediately checked out her YouTube page and she’s fantastic. I applaud her independence and following her own path. So again, I totally get your appreciation of her work, and somehow that makes your appreciation of my work all the more special. So double thanks!
Now that Haley's on his radar, I HOPE he does a drawing of her
(Examples of his work, ....he's really amazing)

I thanked him for reviewing my channel's video. He said he'd not heard of her before (never 'landed' in his algorithm), but the video came up because it was voted in on his podcast/stream
