This video was posted over at Idol Forums. It's a good look at Mayfield and what he's about. Haley would love hanging with this guy. (And if she did we could start a Mayhart, or maybe Havin, thread.)

It's not easy finding examples of his work with a vocalist. There are samples of 14 songs here, http://www.basinstreetrecords.com/artist...-mayfield/ , One of them has a female vocalist. However, I don't think it would be appropriate for Haley to sing "Lynch Mob."

Actually, John, there are many tunes from that Marsalis/Mayfield album that Haley could sing (and probably already has, just not) with Mayfield. I find a certain irony in Ellis Marsalis recording an album with another trumpeter (other than his "oh so famous son" Wynton), but from the brief snippets of each cut, I liked what I heard, and will probably end up adding this to my music collection. Thank you John! (I'm a former trumpet player myself, and I can be fairly persnickety about what I like.)
