Haley the Person

Thanks for bumping this thread - I hadn't seen it before. I didn't know Haley before Idol even though my son was in every school she was in. I have a vague recollection of a girl that was probably Haley telling me it was OK to go down the Aquatic Center Slide many years ago but I hadn't actually met her until June 6, 2011, then again 8/4/11, 9/10/11 (twice), 11/21/11, 11/22/12, 5/3/12, 5/27/12 (twice), 8/3/12, 8/5/12, 9/8/12, and 9/15/12. In those 13 times she always made you feel that she was very glad you were there, always with a very warm smile, often reaching out for a sign of affection and always interested in what you had to say. Her family is the same way. I couldn't be more proud to have gotten to know this wonderful family.

Molly made it to the Top 60 but was never shown again. In a Reality Rocks interview from March 2011 (link below), Molly says of Haley at the 6:06 mark:

...she's doing this because she loves it, and she's not doing it for the fame, or to be a part of the Idol mayhem. She's really just very good and this is the most surefire way to either get a contract or get noticed by someone who can give you a contract.

When I met Haley and actually had the opportunity to verbally interact with her I was so happy to discover that she is a genuinely nice person. She has the natural ability to put the people around her at ease by generating a aura of confidence and self-assurance. I'm something of a social dork who would most likely hold back from talking to someone famous for fear of coming across as an idiot. With Haley my natural reticence seemed to evaporate (or was it the vodka tonics? I forget now). Whatever the case I am glad to have in my personal memory banks positive thoughts and no regrets. That is due almost entirely to Haley's good heart and generous spirit. It annoys me to no end when I read negative comments about such a wonderful person.

I agree Swan, Haley has a way about her that makes you feel completely at ease when you meet her. I'm sure the vodka tonics help as well, lol.

Haley is the most talented person I've ever known but I don't think I will love her this much if she does not have the personality she has. I'm an extremely introvert girl, but the way Haley stands up for herself and what she believes in and still show kindness and sweetness to everyone who deserves it just inspires me. Meeting her would forever be one the most amazing moments in my life.
