Thnx LovinDa, love me some Becker and Fagen.
It was said they didn't tour much in their Hey day because they liked the 'wacky tobackey' too much so didn't want to tour because they didn't want to get caught.
Physical differences aside, they seemed to be in a hurry on that version of "Reelin' in the Years" and Becker, so smooth with the guitar, par excellence on "Josie".
I was lucky enough to see Steely Dan twice, once outdoors at the Gorge Ampitheatre in Washington (with a little assistance from some 'special cookies'

). Both times, they were incredible performances, every musician sounding amazing, and Becker and Fagen were at the top of their games. One of the top five live audio experiences I have heard in person. Loved their album "Aja"
Aja documentary
Their love of Jazz, rock and pop, I wouldn't be adverse to a Haley colab with them, I think she could learn a ton from them. Very interesting their take on the difference between west coast and east coast musicians, back then, as well as the musicians talking about the challenge of making reality what Fagen and Becker imagined for their songs.
Aja the full album
FM is a favorite..."give me some funked up music...."
