RE: Music Videos
^ Thanks for the Dylan clips Bluesman. And I hear you about Joan Baez and her protests about Vietnam; her efforts had no chance to help anyone at the time and her desires to help all involved would have been better applied in other ways. I can only imagine how deep these topics run for veterans. However, I also honestly believe that Joan Baez has always stood and acted in support of the honorable soldiers of Vietnam and our Nation's freedom. As the article at the link below states: "Joan Baez, who, in the 50th year of her career, continues to live according to unshakeable ideals of non-violence and compassion in ways that should inspire us all."

lol I remember country Joe and the fish and crosby still and young all have something to say about protesting the war most of them didn't know what they were protesting or didn't care, such a waste. A lot of celebrities got involved in protesting but it was at the veterans expense that's what really sucked. I'm just glad to see that the welcoming home of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are being treated with respect and compassion. Not to many people remember you after you have gotten your ass shot off. BIY i did read the artical on little ms JOAN, HMMMMM But she was nothing like Jane Fonda. That woman bitters me

^^ For some strange and mysterious reason T-man, that Abba post/reply nigh conjured up a sacrificial posting of the videos, "Bang-Shang-A-Lang" by The Archies and, "Go Away Little Girl" by Donny Osmond.
Go ahead and contaminate AOB with Abba-warfare, until the EPA throws down on you for all I care; but yo homeslyce, if you gonna crawl all up in my grill with blemish on da "Cruel Summer" we throwin down like Homie the Clown.
ABBA were pioneers and have sold over 360 Million albums world wide...
Even Cruel Summer is a cover of the '80's Banarama
Ace of Base piqued too early with their first hit
And...
I liked 'em enough but no longevity
...better to have 'just' a couple of hits than none at all. The songs were really catchy singles though

RE: Music Videos
Bluesman, I too love the patriotic works of Bob Dillon. There were also a few artists who wrote songs during the Vietnam war intended to give cheer and hope to the distressed people of our nation; In 1969, Tommy James was doing exactly that when he wrote “Crystal Blue Persuasion”. According to James (the man who wrote the song, hello) it is about “the bright future of mankind living in peace and harmony”. The actual phrase “Crystal Blue Persuasion” originated with Tommy James and was inspired by a prophetic passage in the Bible describing a time wherein a “bright blue and glorious light shining from the presence of God Almighty" will be that which brings the promised peace and harmony of all mankind.
The song was a huge hit, but so many people missed out on the beauty of it because of popular rumors claiming "Crystal Blue Persuasion" is a reference to "Crystal Meth" and/or "Blue Windowpane" LSD. But whatever, Tommy James and his manager went the EXTRA mile to publicize the correct meaning. For example, the making and release of this next music video showing various scenes of late 1960s political and cultural unrest and desire for love and peace:
Tommy James and the Shondells - Crystal Blue Persuasion
And here’s the fabulous 1996 live performance of the song:

And just for fun, here's some aggressive patriotism.
Sammy Hagar – V.O.A.

But yo seriously, I recently met a guy from Australia with a didgeridoo and he was playing 'Dancing Queen' on it. I thought, "That's Aboriginal."

Another must see is Troubadours. It is a very insightful documentary on the singer-songwriters that came after Baez & Dylan.
