Youtube Surfin'
This thread is for those times you find yourself 'surfin'' youtube(leaping from one video to another connected by the suggested videos or some other redirection) and want to share something that doesn't necessarily fit in the other threads.
I was looking up the BBMA awards and linked to this entertaining cover of a Korean song (1.2.3 4 by Lee Hi) by 13 yr old Jasmine Clarke, who has an incredibly pleasing tone and entertaining/catchy cover. Usually I don't care for this type of music and I don't understand the lyrics, but found myself listening to it a few times more. Very talented young lady
Quote:hi everyone, I love this Korean song and thought I would give it a go! I learnt the lyrics by ear so I know there are some mistakes but it was fun anyways Please do not smash me haha and sorry in advance for the wrong pronunciation ;P ALL RIGHTS TO YG Entertainment @ http://www.yg-music.net/, Lee Hi rocks!!
Here's the original with subtitles
You know what's weird? I can really see Haley covering this song, it's bluesy, hip, cheeky with a pop sensibility

RE: Youtube Surfin'
Taking my Beatles You tube surfin' and arrived at this incredibly soulful performance by Janis Joplin, and you hear so many places that you've heard Haley go.... Great cover of "Love Somebody" (A Bee Gees song?)
To Love Somebody
Quote:At the request of Robert Stigwood, the band's manager, Barry and Robin Gibb wrote "To Love Somebody", a soulful ballad in the style of Sam & Dave or The Rascals, for Otis Redding. The Bee Gees recorded "To Love Somebody" at IBC Studios, London in March 1967 and released it as a single in mid-July 1967 in the U.S. Redding died in an aeroplane crash later that year, before having a chance to record the song.
Quote:Robin said, "Everyone told us what a great record they thought it was, Other groups all raved about it but for some reason people in Britain just did not seem to like it". Barry said "I think the reason it didn't do well here was because it's a soul number, Americans loved it, but it just wasn't right for this country".

RE: Youtube Surfin'
Unrealistic Perspective time
She's SEVEN years old!
He's EIGHT years old!
And this girl, Desiree Bassett Shreds !!
She has video's playing with name performers (Sammy Hagar, Ted Nugent)
(Her singing is surprisingly deep for such a young girl....reminds me of Cher )
Excellent cover of a Joe Satriani Favorite, "Circles"
(she's 14 here, I think)
