I think this might be a very good selection. Derek seems young and somewhat inexperienced but appears to be a real go-getter. It also seems likely that Haley is his #1 client and he will be very invested in her success.

I'm not sure what the scope of Derek's role is with respect to Haley, but he might want to start reading Rachel's Haley Reinhart News to get a fuller grasp of what she is up to. That is a pretty generic tweet. I wonder if he knows what character she is voicing?

There might be a little bit more of Haley wanting to be in control and doing what she needs done, as opposed to being the type of manager who sets things up for her. I expect that part of managing is probably more in the hands of people she's had a relationship with at Ole.

BTW there was a couple days where people got a feeling that a media manager had taken over Haley's social media accounts, issuing standard posts, not sounding like "Ze" Haley we know w/ her Haley speak, liking what appear to be random tweets....

Since that day, it appears that Haley has taken it back over again, judging from her posts today on Twitter and Instagram (maybe FB, but I don't go there)....

I'm reminded of the interview she had w/ Irvin Mayfield in NOLA, when she said after a trial period she took back her social media from whomever was running it for her from Interscope, saying that only she could do her.

IF that was what happened, somone took over her Twitter/FB/Instagram for a day, it's possible Haley saw the reaction from fans, perhaps another instance where she felt she needed to reclaim this particular connection she has w/ her fans?

I think in the future, it could be something like what Casey has, where much of the time, it's him tweeting, while other times, it's a generic tweeting of his next shows' dates times and location.

Well, according to her web site, she is still aligned with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for contacting her and CAA is a heavy hitter in Hollywood. And she is friends with super lawyer Dina LaPolt and of course, she has all the support of Ole. I do think she needs someone to manage her time, schedule, appearances and work to get her opportunities on radio, TV, etc. A Guy Friday. Maybe Derek will be that guy.

Meanwhile, she said on the Josh Wolf show that she is meeting with some big labels and I think that once she signs (fingers crossed), all of the significant management stuff will be handled by the label. You have to admit, Haley by her own bootstraps and amazing talent, has sent her career to new heights in the past year, without a lot of management. She seems to have a very good head on her shoulders and is well balanced--realizing success comes with hard work and commitment to the long haul.

What happened to Simone Smalls? It appears the two are friends but they have separate PR firms. They both mentioned Haley's video on the making of CHFIL on the same day, November 23, Simone on FB and Michelle on twitter.

The two know one another. Maybe they sometimes work together or joined forces? Or Simone directed Haley Michelle's way b/c she's too busy?
