^ Ya, sorry, it just seemed to me the subject matter of this thread called for it Besides, I don't have any problems with the 'F' word, or poking fun at ourselves, but I do hate it when words are used in a hateful or malicious way, no matter how "clean" the words are. My dad used to tell me that where it talks about "corrupt communication" in the Bible it was talking about what our society calls profanity, such as the 'F' word, but I read the context and it was talking about not saying things to people for the purpose of tearing them down, but rather to say things that build them up. If anything were to offend me about the Hodgetwins it would be the way the make fun of things in a tearing down kind of way, but even there, they're really just having fun, like in a roast, with no malice.

^ no need to be sorry LovinDa, I was laughing about the connection to The Big Lebowski, with the prolific use of the F-word. My sons and nephews, seems all the males in my family, all love TBL and it's humor. However, most of the female side cannot watch the movie. They just can't get over the F-bombs, which are ingrained in The Dude's vocabulary. The Coen Brothers even address the issue in the movie by having the cowboy character, narrator Sam Elliot, ask the Dude, "do you have to use all the cuss words"? Many people are uncomfortable with that type of language. I can handle it on the movie screen, but I find it offensive if someone talks like that in real life in front of me...somewhat of a paradox.

However, your point about tearing people down. I don't think the Hodge Twins were trying to build Randy Travis up. It is a human condition to feel better about ourselves when others fall, or to laugh about it. It becomes fodder for the comedians of the world...but in reality, if Randy was one of your family members, it would be sad not funny. I can laugh about the situation and circumstances along with others, but there is a part of me that feels sad for him and his family.

Randy Travis Extremely Intoxicated in Church Fight

More trouble for Randy Travis … TMZ has learned the embattled singer was involved in a FIGHT in a church parking lot in Texas early this morning.

Law enforcement sources tell us … cops responded to the church around 1 AM after receiving a tip about two men fighting in the parking lot.

We’re told Travis was taken to the hospital after the fight. One source tells us Randy appeared to be “extremely intoxicated.”

7:45 AM PT – The Plano Police Department tells TMZ … Travis was cited for simple assault. We’re told officials believe Randy was the primary aggressor.

Cops say … there was a “family argument” taking place between a husband and a wife … and Randy got involved.

Another man was involved in the fight, but cops say it wasn’t the husband.

This has all the earmarks of something that will not end well
