More often than not, it seems, Nicki comments on someone's star potential or marketability rather than their singing. That explains her persona. I also think it reflects an unsureness when it comes to judging singing ability. As the season goes along and she confers with the other judges she will probably pick up on their feedback and grow more confident in her own abilities.

We've entered another dimension...a dimension not only of sight and sound (cue Twilight Zone theme)...Mrs. Buzz looks at Buzz, Buzz looks back "What is going on here...we're agreeing with Randy and now quoting him?"

I reached for my meds...there has to be something in there strong enough to kill the pain of this excruciating moment.

Randy actually appears to be coherent next to Nicki, proving the old axiom 'appearances can be deceiving'. The thing about Nicki is that many times her comments are reasonable and spot on...but then she quickly does a 360 head spin and we hear something so outlandish that we're hit with a WTF moment. I actually think Nicki is not even there. She is being played or operated by Jeff Dunham the ventriloquist, because even Uncle Nigel couldn't pull that off (even though he is the Master Manipulator, or is that Bator?) Seriously...and this is a conspiracy theory, if you look closely, Nicki appears to be molded out of some type of man made product.

Nikki is an excellent judge when she doesn't have a hardon for her lovetoy boys (if that's possible like it is for JDA). She's an interesting character (or one step above that as fascinating - right Buzz?). Maybe it's just that Randy can evaluate Male talent better than he can Female talent; and don't go mixing a male Michael Jackson with a female Haley Reinhart or Randy will go berzerk!

That's the same thing that I've felt about her.I thought she was great on Wed. but then on Thursday your sitting there scratching your head at some of her comments.I think she's slowly seeing that a contestant can't just be outlandish or just different and expect to get very far if they can't at least sing reasonbly well.

One thing about Randy is-and I'd hate to sound like I'm defending him- but he's seen it all and the others are completely new to this.Then again he can be all over the place too.Mariah sometimes looks like she'd fall to pieces if she ever had to say something the least bit harsh about anyone.I like Keith,though.

You know what I like about Mariah..she gave advice about vocals..like..actual advice. That wasn't "you were pitchy." I don't know if we've ever heard that on Idol. (Steven would sometimes compliment what a person did, but he wouldn't give advice)

I really like Nicki as a judge. I think most time she's spot on, and she's got a good ear. I think she gets herself in trouble when she doesn't know the technical word for what she's trying to say. And I also think, like Demi (who, IMO, was also one of the better judges we've had on a singing competition) as a young woman, she gets a bit distracted by attractive young men.

But I think she's great in that she doesn't worry about what people are going to think about what she said. So even if I disagree with her, I appreciate the reasonable opinion that she usually has. And you know what, I prefer Nicki saying straight up that she liked a performer because she's attracted as opposed to JLo saying she thought Phillip's performance was better than Jessica's because she thought Jessica "always does the same thing." (I can't even...)

I think the biggest reason is that if Nicki likes a performance because the guy is attractive, then she's essentially saying what he did wasn't good enough to register for her. Whereas JLo's distraction would result in an insult towards Jessica.

OK dear people,I just ended to see the suddendeath of girls and guys
episodes.To me no one contestant of this season is near at the S10 specially the guys with very boring voices and song choise's(except maybe )On the girls group only a couple interesting for me:Angela and Amber.
I don't know if only am I but after heard Haley with a total controll of her
voice,tones,inflexions it's very hard for me judge with justice other singers.
In all my life I never can remember some words or music of any song but
when Haley sing some song,after two times I can remember that song.
I am going out of tread,sorry by my Haley's fever attack

It's not just you. I drove around a bit today with Haley's CD playing. Then I came home and listened to some of her performances on YouTube. Including her Hollywood GBTC and Bennie and the Jets. I don't think there's another performer that I could listen to for months, let alone years, across different genres.
