Early yesterday evening I attempted to respond to the "Que Sera" remark (of your's, I believe), with Haley's philosophical answer to much: "Everything happens for a reason..." when my internet connection cut out.

In the interim, it seems that you are thinking along similar lines (although I'm not interested in speculating about her personal life). If Haley's first album can pull off what you suggested, it would be fabulous!

And, Midnight, if more musical collaboration between Haley and Mayfield can further both of their careers (by securing a more solid position for Haley in the jazz world and garnering a broader audience for Mayfield), then I'll vote for that!

We are going to have to wait till her album comes out to find out really where she's going into her music career. But it would seem to me, and this is only speculation that she is gearing up to be more of the jazzy type of singer. Whatever happens, it will be great and I think were all in for a new treat.

Yes, we will need to wait to hear what her first album covers, but (and, I've said this before) as much as I want her to walk down and own Jazz Alley, for her sake I know that she needs (and already has) a broader audience and she must give them what they want as well. Satisfying all will not be easy, but Haley can probably accomplish it.

As to your plans for Veterans Day, enjoy! I assume that you are a vet and thank you, sir, for your service.

I would also like to see Haley exercise a little more aggressiveness in her stage persona. Like she did at the end of the tour when she was singing in the Philippines. When she sang house of the rising Sun. She put a lot of strength, energy and emotions into it and I think that was her best performance yet.( Rock on. In a soulful way.) Thank you, My Alter Ego for your compliment. But I do have to reconsider opening up a bottle of scotch. I dread the consequences of a hangover. Chow.

You can still put a log on the fire and (ahem) fire up the 'Les Paul'! ( I do suggest that you don't disturb your neighbors, but you should still be able to have fun without doing that.)

You should still put a log on the fire as there are few days in Houston when you can justify doing that -- my parents' home has a large corner fireplace and I can honestly only recall it being used maybe twice in 35 years. We moved there from Missouri, where we frequently had a fire gong. Thanks again for your service.

Thanks a lot for that compliment I guess it took me a long time to get over the resentment of a war that nobody wanted to be in. There was no political agenda and everything was governed not by territory that was one, but by body count. But that's all done, it's over. The American soldier did not start the war but we were asked to serve and to do our duty so that I'm proud of. Thank you very much so. ;-) By the Way, Miguel, are you from Houston? Yes, my parents moved to the same part of Houston you live in now when I was eleven. We touched on it back in July in your thread about "Rain." I live in the DFW area now.
